Some of you may have noticed that older prayers have seemed to be reposted? Our ISP has upgraded to new servers, which are incompatible to the old ones. Information has to be moved over by hand. That includes stored info we save from postings. This change over has caused some problems and we're working on getting the new system to work with older programming. The people on the prayer list all need our prayers yet today, as do we, as we work to get things operating smoothly again. Thank you for understanding and God bless you all for the support you give to this ministry.

Special prayers are needed for Nancy Shrawder of Danville, PA. Early this year Nancy's doctors found cancer in the right side of her neck and into her upper chest area. The doctors operated and removed all they could and she quickly under went Chemo. Nancy responded well to her treatments and her checkups were good. A recent checkup has showed the return of six spots on her lungs! Doctors say they're far to small to se them well enough to try and remove them. They have placed her on a hard based treatment sessions! Nancy and her husband Bart are still standing strong in faith and trust in the Lord. This family really needs our prayer warriors to rally for them. Pray for His healing hands to be upon Nancy, and prayers for His strength and grace to be with this family!

Our prayers are needed for Carlee Hobbs, her husband and 4 children. They're missionaries in Nome, Alaska and Carlee is expecting her 5th child in July. Last Friday Carlee got test results back that she has an aggressive form of breast cancer. Biopsies are still being studied so her doctors will know what to do next. Please pray for Carlee, her family and another gift from God that they are looking to bring into this world. Pray for wisdom and knowledge from the Lord for her doctors and staffing. For guidance and strength for this whole family as they continue to share the Lord with all those they meet. We know info about this family will be sparse at times. So please keep them and all the others on our prayers list in your daily thoughts!

Update:
Carlee will be going to Anchorage for testing on the 17th. The 18th they will induce labor so she can have the baby before starting Chemo treatments. The baby will be at 36 weeks and should be just fine. On Monday 22nd, the road begins with MRI and CAT scans and by mid week they'll remove the sentinel lymph nodes for biopsy, which will tell how far the cancer has pushed into my body. These treatments to follow will be hard on this family and all the while they will continue to do the Lord's work. Please keep them in your prayers. May the Lord guide the doctors and staff and keep this family strong for the road ahead. Amen

Update: 6-19-09
Caleb Nathaniel Hobbs has arrived!
He's 6 lbs 7 oz, 21 in. long. He's in NIC needing oxygen for underdeveloped lungs. Please pray for the Lord's arms to be around this new gift of life! So far Carlee is doing well and will soon start her chemo.

"God is so big He can cover the whole world with His love and so small He can curl up inside your heart."

Update: 6-25-09
Carlee's Mom want everyone to know that Caleb has been making tiny little improvements every day. They have been lowering the support oxygen levels they're giving him. Doctors believe in about two weeks Caleb will be completely off the ventilator? They also have started giving breast milk a couple times a day. The Lord's healing hands are surly upon little Caleb. Carlee's mother ended her update with the following; "Well, that's about the newest news from Alaska. Your prayers are carrying us through. thank you!! Please continue to pray that we would have a fresh, daily encounter with the Lord. We need His hope, His power, His joy, His grace every moment. Bless you, Lin."
Praise the Lord! Amen

Update: 7-3-09
Carlee had a bad reaction to the first medication for her chemo. Thank the Lord she is okay and the next round of treatment they gave her something to help with the side effects. She did much better. As most of you know, from reading all the prayer requests over the years for cancer treatments. The road ahead is very long. Months will go by before they'll know how well it's working. So don't forget to keep Carlee and our other people in need, in your daily prayers. Caleb is now off the ventilator and breathing on his own. Praise the Lord! Caleb was released from the hospital on July 7th.

Update: 10-18-09
Praise the Lord! Carlee has made it through her final chemotherapy infusion treatment. She will still have a few weeks of side effects to go through. What seemed to be a mountain to go over, God turned it into a highway. Please keep Carlee in your prayers and pray that her testing to come will show the cancer has been removed from her.

Eddie Kranack of FL and his family still need our prayers. After Eddie's heart attack in 09, the lack of oxygen to his brain caused him to be in a coma. His doctors thought he would never recover. Along the way doctors have tried many experimental types of therapy, with some very good results. Eddie is at his home with family trying to continue to work with Eddie's condition. They believe the signs of improvement they have seen in Eddie and by faith, that miracles do still happen and God willing, Eddie will come back to them.

Prayers & Praise Update!

We need to correct Eddie's last name. It's Kraynak!

He is at home and I'd say out of physical/critical state but he has a long, long way to go still. His Mom's faith is unbelievably strong and she is truly an angel on earth as she fights to get him back to who he was. The HBOT treatments she refers to are Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments, much like divers with the bends go thru. There is research that shows these HBOT treatments help people with brain injuries such as Eddie has, from lack of oxygen to the brain when he went into cardiac arrest. (Term for it is anoxic brain injury). Please read on!

Eddie is now about 15 treatments into this round of HBOT - he is doing great! We have seen more eye movement and body movements, along with his level on consciousness is higher. He continues to change and progress on a daily basis. He is doing great with the new Quadracisor too. He is even picking up some muscle weight. It is doing wonders for his muscles and has helped any contractions that he was having.

Prayer warriors, please keep up the good work. For as you can read, Eddie is improving!

Prayers are needed for Jean Lumbard of Thomaston, CT. Jean's doctor found a mass on her lung and further testing showed shadows in her kidneys. She'll be going into St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury on the 11th of February. The doctor has only given Jean a 50% chance of making it through the surgery she needs done. Her family is asking us to join them and her church in prayers for God's grace and mercy to be with Jean. Please pray for the Lord's strength to be with her family.

Most of you will remember Carlee Hobbs, the missionary family in Alaska. Instead of trying to fill you in on what has been happenng to Carlee. We think her recent letter will tell you much better then we can!

Your prayers for us are of such precious importance that I wanted to be sure you were updated following our visits with the surgeon and oncologist in Anchorage. Let me first of all remind you and myself that our hope is in God - HE who formed and sustains us.

Let me also praise Him to you for a huge answer to prayer. I had asked for prayer regarding the "chemo brain" situation I was facing after the end of my chemo. I had learned that it can be permanent in 50% of the cases regarding the drugs I was on. I rejoice to tell you that it has NOT been permanent, and it has been several weeks since I've had one of those "chemo brain" blank-outs! Thank you for praying for me!

I'm not sure how to share all of this briefly, so please excuse the bluntness. There is no consensus among my doctors or those that they sent my reports to for counsel. My oncologist basically stated that the assumption is that because surgery found my lymph system so packed with the aggressive cancer that it has indeed spread to the rest of my body. As far as we know it has not begun forming tumors, but my rate of recurrence elsewhere is extremely high. (I interrupt with a happy thought... we serve a God who loves to show up and demonstrate His power when the odds are stacking up against success!)

Some feel that I should continue with radiation and nothing else, basically just hoping it doesn't show up elsewhere or at least not for a while. Others feel that I should try some sort of chemo basically out of compassion. It's a shot in the dark because there are very few cases of my exact situation, and absolutely no studies that suggest what drug would be right to treat this. They feel better to try something and hope it would work than to just wait for it to show up again. They have encouraged me to seek specialists and second opinions and basically left it up to us without a specific recommendation. There is no tried method to help at this point.

Already the Lord has begun to open doors for us, the top breast specialist at Cleveland Clinic is a friend of a friend and willing to meet with us. We meet with my radiation oncologist on Monday. We need wisdom and guidance, God alone knows what we should do and how He intends to work. Thank you for praying for us. Psalm 3 has been blessing me with it's reminder of where our confidence should be...

"Lord, how they are increased who trouble me! Many are saying, 'There is no help for her in God.' But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. Salvation belongs to the Lord."

Nathan would like me to add that he is very aware that Satan's goal in our trials is to get us to damn God. But we will choose to praise God who has already conquered him. The Lord reminded Nathan of a statement He had given on our wedding day. "Sheep may safely graze where the Shepherd has led them to pasture." It may not feel safe, but if the Shepherd led us here, He is the One keeping watch. In that knowledge, we trust and we praise.

We love you! Carlee for Nathaniel and the hobbits.

Prayers have been requested by a friend for a young man named Rick from the Lancaster, PA area. Rick has a four inch cancer tumor in his lung. It is also attached to the nerves that run down his arm and is pressing on his back, causing him a great deal of pain. We understand they have placed a port in for his chemo treatments. We're not sure at this time when they will begin, but it's soon. Rick cannot work anymore and has moved to his parents home. Rick has two older brothers that had cancer in the past. This family has been through a lot and they seek the Lord's guidance and understanding. They need our heart filled prayers for the Lord's healing hands to be upon all of them.

Update: 2-4-10
Rick's doctors believe his radiation treatments shrank the mass enough now to operate? This will be major surgery, to go through his back, cutting away part of his rib cage and then reconstruct it. Please keep Rick and his family in your daily prayers and thoughts.
